At NinjaTax, we believe in protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how NinjaTax collects and uses the personal information visitors to our public Web site share with us.

This Privacy Policy does not describe our privacy and confidentiality practices with respect to clients. This Privacy Policy also does not apply to any portion of this Web site, or third-party Web sites we use, that is accessible only to NinjaTax's clients. Our privacy and confidentiality practices with respect to information we receive as part of a client engagement are governed by the terms of the Engagement Letter and by applicable federal and state laws and regulations. In general, NinjaTax only collects generic, non-personal information about visitors to its Web site, such as a visitor's IP address, Web browser, geographic region, etc. and logs that information. We may use third-party analytics services to collect and/or analyze this information. We or these service providers may use "cookies" to facilitate collecting this information, or it may come from Web server logging facilities.

We collect this sort of information to gauge the effectiveness of the information and services we provide on our Web site, to analyze usage patterns and to better understand the types of visitors that visit our Web site.

As of the date of this Privacy Policy, we collect personally identifying information through this Web site in three ways: through the contact form, through the online scheduling utility, and through client referrals. Information sent through the contact form and scheduling utility is only used to communicate and follow-up with prospective clients. Payment information submitted through the scheduling utility is sent through PayPal, a third-party payments provider. NinjaTax does not receive any credit card or bank information from PayPal.

When referrals are sent to us, we will follow-up with the referred potential client, if the referrer requests. Otherwise, we will simply note the referral and wait to be contacted by the referred potential client.

We may add contact information to internal contact databases and maintain copies of messages sent to us through our Web site in our e-mail systems. However, we do not share your information with any other companies or outside parties, sell your information, or disclose to anyone outside NinjaTax that you contacted us.

Information submitted through our online tools is sent to our Web server over SSL and subsequently sent to us in an S/MIME-encrypted message. Encrypting at both points helps prevent unwanted disclosure of, and unauthorized tampering with, the message.

We use third-party service providers to assist us in hosting and maintaining this Web site and our e-mail and e-mail archival systems. We do not share information submitted through our Web site with our service providers and encrypt the data submitted to prevent unwanted disclosure.

If we are required to disclose information received through this Web site by law or court order, we will do so. We will attempt to contact you prior to making any such disclosures, if permitted.

Our Web site contains hyperlinks to third-party Web sites. We do not control the content on these other Web sites or your use of them. Any information you share on a hyperlinked Web site will be governed by that Web site's privacy policy.
